What is the debit system?
The debit system allows parents to put money into their child's lunch account. Funds are deposited in advance of the lunch purchases.
Can I still give my child cash to pay for lunch every day?
Yes, parents may still choose to pay cash instead on a daily basis. However, the debit system helps to speed up the lunch line and helps end the days of children forgetting their lunch money.
Does the debit system operate like a credit system?
No, the debit system is not a credit account. Instead, parents deposit money in advance to pay for their child's lunch.
How can I make a deposit?
Deposits should be made by check or money order, payable to St. Bonaventure School. Please make checks for the amount to be deposited to the account only. Change will not be given to students. Cash deposits will be accepted but are made at your own risk since we cannot provide a method of tracking cash.
What items can be purchased with the debit system?
Only the a single lunch per child. Second lunch and side items are cash only.

What if I forget to make a deposit or my child forgets his money for lunch?
If a student forgets or loses their lunch or lunch money, we will allow that child to "charge" lunch (but not a la carte item) and will send a notice to your email address indicating the amount owed. Charges must be paid immediately.
How will I know when the balance is low on my child's account?
Low Balance emails will be sent once a child's balance drops below one week per child (five lunches times number of children) so that you have an opportunity to replenish their account in a timely manner.
How does St. Bonaventure protect the debit account from being used by another student?
At the elementary and middle school level, the CafeIDs are issued to students during school enrollment. Students enter their CafeID on a keypad or verbally to the registar operator as they pass through the line.
We encourage parents to maintain a balance in their account to cover the lunchs. However, students may pay cash on a daily basis if desired.
